Getting Married in Aruba

Aruba FlagLast year I went to Aruba to be the best man at my friend's wedding. Before I went there I knew very little about the tiny island. I knew it was in the Caribbean, but that was about it. I thought the island was tropical, like Hawaii, and I knew nothing about the people who live there. What I discovered when I got there was that Aruba is "one happy little island." Everyone I met seemed to have a smile on his or her face. Folks were friendly and helpful.

I also learned that the island is not tropical at all. Aruba reminded me a lot of Tucson, but with a beautiful blue-green ocean and pristine, white-sand beaches. Inland, Aruba is a dry island, with lots and lots of cacti, iguanas and even a donkey sanctuary. But the coastline is gorgeous!

The wedding ceremony took place on one of the beutiful beaches at one of the big-name hotels. The sun was setting and the scene was very similar to the one seen here in the Lewis Black promotional video. Enjoy!
